iHerb Favorites for Clean Living
I could pop into a Whole Foods or place an Amazon Prime order and have anything I needed instantly.
When we moved to Vietnam, I had zero access. Friends and family members became mules for clean goods. Every visitor would arrive with a suitcase filled to the brim with kitchen, cleaning and lifestyle staples. They also came with a whole lot of doTERRA products for my growing community.
Our move to Singapore was a breath of fresh air. I had access again! We are able to get 90% of the clean products I have come to love but there are still some I have to source from the US. Thankfully, iHerb makes that easy and affordable!
Here are my favorites:
Think Baby Sunscreen - before having my son, I did a deep dive into a toxin-free sunscreen option because the sun is unavoidable in Singapore. This sunscreen rates at 1 on the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep database. If you have not checked your household goods in this database, I suggest you do so. It is eye opening.
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides - an odorless, flavorless powder that dissolves into hot and cold liquids. I add this to coffee, smoothies and soups to get a daily dose of collagen. Benefits of taking a collagen supplement include improvements to skin and hair, joint support and healing a leaky gut. Dr. Axe has a great article on this!
Simple Mills Crackers - this is a recent discovery for me and I am obsessed with their almond flour crackers. Great for a paleo lifestyle and as part of your Whole 30 food freedom.
Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos - I have been using these coconut aminos for years as a soy substitute. It is the base of sauces, dressings and is great for mixing into a burger before cooking for extra flavor and moisture.
Primal Kitchen Mayonnaise - a clean, paleo mayonnaise without any junk. We use this often as the base for dipping sauces and salad dressings. It is also a staple for our salmon bakes!
Seasnax - we love this seaweed snack for Charlie, who doesn’t do much dairy and is in need of some extra iodine in his diet. Seasnax uses only premium ingredients - organic olive oil, sustainably sourced seaweed and a pinch of salt. They are strangely addictive!
Indian Healing Clay - This is what I use to make my apple cider vinegar face masks and the detox foot mask for Charlie after shots. Just make sure you are not mixing it in a metal bowl or with a metal spoon. The negative charge of the clay pulls positively charged metals to it - this is what makes it great for detoxing the body of heavy metals.
I do one stock up order a month from iHerb. One, this is the best way to minimize the carbon footprint. Obviously ordering products in from the US isn’t ideal but I do my best. Two, you get free or extremely discounted shipping (only S$5) if the order is over S$80!
This list will grow so make sure you check back often to see any new favorites I may add!
